How do you teach children to share their IR with a partner?
Children need to learn procedures if they are to reap the potentially powerful benefits of talking about what they’ve read with a partner. Like they do with all other routines, the teachers develop clear, purposeful steps for partner sharing. The Commentary clips labeled 1, 2, and 3 are a sequence used by Ms. Long in developing strong partner sharing. Ms. Whitman provides a brief explanation of her Buddy Sharing routines and chart.
